I was very very very excited about Rome. I’ve spent a lot of my time reading books and watching documentaries on Roman history so coming to Rome was a dream come through. However, I felt ill on arrival in Rome which kinda spoiled a few days of my stay. We still managed to do all that we aimed to see. The Vatican, Sistine Chapel (I literally, did not want to leave when I got to the chapel), Colosseum and so on. Despite the massive headache I was suffering from (partially due to the blazing heat of Rome), I did have a pretty awesome time in Rome. Funnily enough, 3/8 meals were Chinese take-out HAHA. I guess after eating such amazing food for the past few cities, we needed a break…..and it was getting REAL expensive!
If I had to choose my favourite sight, St Peter’s Basilica really took the cake. The biggest and arguably most important Church in Christendom did live up to it’s billing. The view from the top was stunning but it was the inside that took the cake. Unbelievable and indescribable is all I can say, the pics do the rest!
Rome was our Parents last stop and they had to fly back for work (BUMMER), so the first stage of the trip had officially ended. Stage 2 began with my brother and me flying south to the continent of Africa!
