Back after 5 Years

London! The next 6.5 adventurous week began on 14th of May, after two hectic days of preparation. After getting a sweet flight deal from Norwegian Air, my brother and I flew a 14 Hour flight to Gatwick Airport in London. A pretty good flight and I left with no complaints. Getting through the security took 5 mins, YES, ONLY 5 MINS. However, our speedy exit was brought to an abrupt halt when my brother could not find his luggage.  We waited for close to an hour to only realise that his bag was actually there all along, in a plastic wrapping as it had…. BROKEN. We did not know whether to laugh or cry as we had a 2-hour train & tube ride to our Uncle’s place. As luck would have it, we made it there without incident. It had been five years since I last step foot in London and it feels exactly as I remembered it. My Aunt and Uncle’s house was exactly as I remembered it and my Aunt’s Briyani was just as delicious as I remembered 😀

The next few days were pretty chill with a couple of events each day. On our last visit 5 years ago, we had done most of the iconic activities. However, we did visit Trafalgar Square again to recreate a picture I took on my last trip (possible tradition ALERT).

Over the few days, I managed to catch up with some of my buds that were studying in town, which is always a blast and on Tuesday (my Brother’s 21st birthday coincidentally), we visited another part of our family in Greenford (We have another Uncle, Aunty and Sister living on the other side of London – yes I do have an awesome, large family :D). It was so fun reconnecting with them, having drinks and trying some Caribbean food for the first time!

On Wednesday, brought one of the events of the trip…… the HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD PLAY! I’ve been wanting to see this ever since it was in production and I as so blessed my mum managed to score such hard-to-get tickets (a lot of the dates are fully booked for MONTHS). It was essentially two plays with Part 1 from 2 to 5pm and Part 2 from 7 to 930pm, essentially a REALLY long play HAHA. All in all, it was awesome; compelling storyline that keeps one pondering, amazing acting and effects. Truly truly special and it was a privilege to have watched it! (100% must watch for potterheads)

Eventually, Friday came and we headed to Gatwick airport to depart London for the next chapter in the adventure……….
