To The Land Down Under

The two weeks after returning from my 4 month long trip was pretty relaxing. It was fun to see family and friends again after such a lengthy absence. The climate (hot and humid) was not so fun HAHA. It was getting boring in Singapore (alot of my friends were tied up with university stuff or being overseas) until a phone call with my cousins in Perth (with my mum as well) changed all that. It just so happened that my cousin and sister-in-law (i shall refer to them as my brother and my sister in these posts, as that is what they are to me 😀 ) were free just as i was free and there were cheap flights to Perth. Next thing i knew i was booked on a plane to Perth, YAY! I had only been to Australia once when i was much younger so this was quite exciting. My year of travelling takes an added adventure! After a decent flight, i had landed in Perth! Quickly met my awesome hosts (have not seen them in awhile so getting to spend time with them was awesome) and drove to dinner at a local bar and then back to their huge house. They brought they dog (Rotti) along so i made a new friend that evening as well, i LOVE dogs. He is a five-year old Corgi and he is so adorable. He literally licked my hand the entire ride back 🙂 It was winter in Perth so i was back to the temperature i love (the cold).

The first few days were spent exploring the area. We saw Perth city center on the first day followed by some amazing toast at Toastface Grillah (100% recommend checking them out). My brother is currently doing his masters at University of Western Australia, so we did a small tour of the campus and it was indeed quite beautiful. The best part was when we walked to Swan Lake and just hung out at the park. The place is so pristine and calm, it was so nice to just hang out there. On top of that, there were Swans walking all over the place and as an avid animal lover i had fun observing them and taking numerous photos of them. We had some of my brother’s delicious Ba Kut Teh for dinner, it was honestly soooo good!  The next day we took a trip in the morning to the gym nearby and it was glorious. The gym is so huge (compared to the crappy one i go to in Singapore) and they have pool as well, i literally could spend all day at this gym. After the workout we were all beat so we headed home to rest. In the evening we headed to a nearby town called Freemantle for some awesome seafood. After the delicious food we headed to a local brewery called Little Creatures (great beers) to round up a wonderful day.
