On my last day in Los Angeles i basically explored downtown LA, which was an hour from the hostel. The day started at La Brea Tar Pits which was this collection of large Tar Pits that allowed for the discovery of numerous preserved fossils. I’ve never seen an actual tar pit before so that was quite interesting. Next on the list was the trip to the Walt Disney Concert Hall. The self-guided audio tour was pretty cool as it helped to give some nice context to the building of the hall. However the architecture was the real winner, the whole structure was gorgeous. After this i took a nice stroll through Little Tokyo which was pretty cool (i’ve yet to go to Japan so i’ve no basis for comparison). Lastly i headed to City Hall which was a pretty decent building. Pretty low-key day just exploring downtown LA.
