On the 26th of May, everyone else (Anandani, Amrietha and Derrick) had arrived in Austin for the memorial day weekend!!! I was so excited to see my sisters again and to meet Derrick (my eldest sister’s husband) for the first time. There was some delay but by midnight everyone was in the house. This weekend was probably gonna be one of the highlights of the trip 🙂
The following day (Saturday), after sleeping in, all seven of us got in two of the cars and drove out for lunch at Salt Lick BBQ. It was one of the best BBQ places and it was a 45 minute drive out from the house. It was a pretty chill place but the food was just WOW. Hands down, the best BBQ i ever had. First, there was a huge fireplace that kept the cooked meat warm inside the place that was just a meat-lover’s dream. The food was all so good but the ribs was especially amazing (it was at least twice the size of what we would get in Singapore). I was also introduced to Uncle’s friend and his wife who had joined us for lunch. They were such a lovely pair and it was really nice getting to know them 🙂
After a really great lunch, our group split into two with Archnashree, Anandani and Derrick heading back to the house while Aunt, Uncle, Amrietha and Myself heading back to the San Marcos Outlet malls. We were actually there to return some stuff but we ended up doing more shopping HAHA. Lucky for me, Amrietha Akka suggested we head into Johnston & Murphy’s and there was such a great sale there i left with two fantastic shirts 😀
The day ended with us having some good homemade Nasi Lemak for dinner and a game of clue (which Derrick won HA).
