Before the trip started i had no intention to head over to Vegas but which some advice from my father and my aunt, i organised a short, round trip to Las Vegas with the main goal of seeing the Grand Canyon. I managed to find a flight and hotel for roughly 300 USD (4 Nights stay) which was pretty awesome as i didn’t really stay at a Hostel in Vegas. I was staying at the Stratosphere Hotel that was slightly off the Vegas Strip (the main street where all the hotels are) which made it cheaper than staying at some other hotels. Stratosphere was pretty alright, with it’s big rooms, affordable buffet, open-air rooftop pool, 110 storey observation deck & rides and it’s own Casino! By time i arrived the first night, it was almost 12 pm so all i did was a little bit of gambling (lost 3 dollars) and went to bed.
The following day started out pretty late (by time i slept was 3am) with a hotel buffet (a mandatory thing to do in Vegas). Pretty damn awesome with the huge selection. After lunch i just hung around the hotel for awhile and eventually headed to the rooftop open-air pool! It was quite awesome because of the open bar as well as the awesome view. We could see the mountains that surrounded Vegas quite clearly and it was quite a sight (this would eventually be topped by the view from the observation deck). It was so chill over there i actually fell asleep for a short time in the lounge chairs! I had planned the day such that i would explore Vegas in the evening when all the lights were out. I began my exploration of the strip by starting at the famous Las Vegas Sign. I managed to catch the sunset while i was at the sign, so it was pretty special and needless to say that the photo of the Vegas Sign during sunset was awesome! From the sign i walked all the way to the Mirage hotel which was quite a substantial distance and a majority of the strip. The New York New York hotel was so cool as there was a Statue of Liberty, a Brookly Bridge and even an Empire State Building! It really did have a small feel of NYC while in Vegas. I absolutely loved the iconic waterworks at the Bellagio Hotel, which was one of the highlights of Las Vegas! While Caesar’s Palace did not have any outright attractions (other than the various statues outside the huge hotel), the inside of the hotel was beyond belief. It quite literally looked like a palace from the inside. Once again, i will let the pictures due the talking. By time i was done exploring the strip, i headed back to the hotel and went straight to bed. I had an early reveille of 5am due to the Grand Canyon tour the next day.
