Mount Bonnell and My Aunt’s Birthday!

On the Friday after i arrived, my Uncle had flown in from Malaysia. He lives in Austin with my aunt but his work takes him overseas quite often so i was lucky that my schedule coincided with his return. One evening, both my aunt and uncle drove me to the top of Mount Bonnell (we did have to climb for a short section). We arrived just in time for sunset and it was really beautiful. I was never one to go out of my way to catch a sunset in Singapore but the view from the top was stunning. I managed to catch the view of downtown from the top before the sun had set so that was really nice. However the view of the sunset really took the cake, i’ll let the photos do the talking. It seemed pretty awesome to me that they (Aunt & Uncle) lived in driving distance of such an amazing view. An added bonus was they saved me a long walk up too the top (yay).

Fast forward to May 9th and it was my aunt’s birthday! My sisters who lived in D.C. and Denver had sent gifts as well as booked a reservation for us, I managed to get a cake and my Uncle got dinner so everyone was involved 🙂 It was pretty sweet when all three of them (sisters) called and we did the cake cutting over Skype! We headed over to this Restaurant called Eddie V’s which was such an good dinner. The service as so good and the food was something else. I would not easily forget the dinner we had at the restaurant (A must go if you’re in Texas).
