Kennedy Space Center (KSC)

Due to the rocket launch on the 18th of April, we absolutely had to go to the Kennedy Space Center that day to witness the (quite possibly) once in a lifetime event. As the Space Center is in quite a remote area, it was impractical to go there without a tour group so we booked a tour using Grayline. They were pretty excellent and i would recommend using them. Despite the heavy, heavy traffic to the Space Center, we arrived with some time to spare before the launch was underway. It was pretty special as we could hear the commentary and the countdowns before the launch. When the rocket was in the sky, we could actually feel the sound waves passing through us! After little while the rocket was gone and we continued to tour the rest of the Space Center. There was a great guided tour of the Apollo Center that they had which featured a live rocket that was modelled after the ones used on the Apollo missions and needless to say, it was massive. We were also able to see the site where the shuttle for the Mars mission was being built! There were videos of the various Apollo missions  (Apollo 11 was of course my favourite) and also a talk/ Q&A with some NASA scientists, who were describing how they conducted experiments on the ISS (International Space Station). All in all,

visiting the KSC was memorable experience, it was a great symbol as well as reminder of the will and ingenuity of human beings. One Small Step For Man, One Great Leap For Mankind!
