Hollywood!

After having a large breakfast at the apartment (so we did not have to eat in the park) we headed for the Disney Hollywood Studios! As we did get to the park relatively early, it was not as crowded as it would have been at mid-day. As such, we immediately headed to the Star Wars Launch Bay (yes there was a star wars section!!) to meet the Character any Star Wars aficionado wants to meet, Chewbacca. It was a pretty short wait and we got to meet Chewy!! That was really pretty damn awesome. We explored the Star Wars Launch Bay and found some pretty cool things, like getting to meet some Jawas just walking around (looking for droids to sell), live-sized speed racers and other star wars replicas. After the launch bay we headed to the Pixar section where i had fast-pass for the toy story ride (super fun). However, due to the popularity of the ride we never got to ride it again (the wait times eventually never got lower than 50 minutes).  Also at the Pixar section were two of my favourite Characters, Woody and Buzz! Toy Story is on my top 10 Disney films so was pretty special getting a picture with them. We managed to do some exhilarating rides such as the Tower of Terror (crazy drops) and the Aerosmith Rollercoaster (crazy rollercoaster). As in Animal Kingdom there were plenty of live shows to watch such as Beauty and the Beast, Star Wars, Little Mermaid and Frozen.

Beauty and the Beast was utterly brilliant and made me feel like i was a kid again. The Star Wars show was a dedication to the films, with various characters coming on stage to play their signature roles that they had in the film. The best part was when the infamous Lord Vader came out. Frozen and Little Mermaid were sing-alongs which really went the extra mile as Queen Elsa appeared in the former as while as Ursula in the latter.  The rides and shows took up most of the day and eventually we had arrived at the big finale. There were to be two big finales but i’ll begin with the first one. It was a spectacle where Micky was being attacked by the various Disney villains (Jafar, Scar, Maleficent , etc) and how he prevailed over them. It involved fireworks, pyrotechnics and water works. It was a pretty spectacular finale but the second one really took the cake. So Micky’s show finished at 8.57pm and the Star Wars Finale was to start at 9pm, so we had to run for one end of the park to the other and luckily, we made it! It did not disappoint. There were laser shows to mimic a Star Wars battleground, fireworks to show explosions and my favourite part was when Darth Vader was showcased (a kind of giant projection) and said his famous lines. It was really an amazing end to an amazing day.
