PHILLLLYYYY!

The last two days of the trip with my parents and brother was in the city of Philadelphia. Philly was a city that was similar to D.C. but it contained history that was much older than D.C. We spent our first day or half-day seeing City hall and eating at the famous reading-terminal market. The second day, we followed a tour through the city and explained the colonial and post colonial life of the citizens. Philadelphia was the capital and seat of the three branches of government after and during the revolution of 1776. Hence, all that history began in Philly. The USA government  began in Philly. The Declaration was signed here. So it was pretty amazing waking through such a city and seeing the various sites such as the Liberty Bell, an object of huge significance in the abolishment movement. After the tour, we headed to the very famous Rocky Steps on the Philadelphia Art Museum. as everyone knows, this was the steps where the character Rocky Balboa ran up to the iconic Rocky training music. Following this we had some awesome, authentic Philly Cheesesteaks which were ok as they tasted fine but i was not a big fan. We did not spend that much time in Philadelphia but the time we did spend brought me new insight into US history and culture. Sadly though, on the third day it was time for my parents and brother to leave and return to Singapore. I was very grateful that they agreed to my request to join me on part of my journey and i was sad that they could not stay longer 😦

However, i still had my younger cousin-brother with me! Soon after our party disbanded, my cousin and i packed up and headed to take our flight to the city of Orlando, Florida!
